This tour includes visiting the most interesting sights of imperial Saint Petersburg and ancient Russian town Novgorod with 12-century history. UNESCO recognized Novgorod as a World Heritage site in 1992.
The first day we visit the most picturesque sights of Saint Petersburg. We will go to Peterhof, which is called Russian Versailles, by a hydrofoil boat that will allow to enjoy marine views of the Gulf of Finland. We will explore the Grand Peterhof palace where you will see genius restoration of all interior elements. We will also see the Upper Park which was laid under the order of Peter I and the Low Park with cascades and different fountains.
After stunning fountains and interiors of Big Palace we will discover magnificent interiors of the Hermitage and the world famous painting.
The first day also includes visits to the most beautiful cathedrals of Saint Petersburg- St. Isaac’s Cathedral and Church on the Spilled Blood.
St. Isaac’s Cathedral is a museum. This is fourth largest cupola cathedral in the world. You will fascinated not only by the exterior but also the interior.
The Church on the Spilled Blood will amaze you by 7700 square meters of mosaics that you will see inside. The Church on the Spilled Blood or The Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ (the official name of the site) was built on the place where Alexander II was assassinated.
The second day we will drive to Novgorod which is approximately 3 hours away from Saint Petersburg.
The tour includes a visit to Novgorod Kremlin, St. Sophia Cathedral and Yuriev Monastery. These sights are all under UNESCO protection. During the tour you will have an opportunity to visit several wooden peasant’s log hunts of 19th century.
Among the most famous sights that you will see during the general sightseeing tour are Bronze monument to the Millennium of Russia constructed in 1862 and War Memorial.
